Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Type: Full-Time Position

Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in machine design, robotics, and industrial automation. Mechanical Design Engineers work as part of a small project team, primarily designing and executing robot cells. We are looking for a capable, creative, and self-motivated professional who wants a career working in a constantly changing variety of applications, industries, and engineering challenges.

Essential Functions:
- Understanding and implementing the technical requirements and scope of work for each project
- Interacting with the project manager, project engineers, the fabrication shop, and the customer in a professional, productive, and effective manner
- Adhering to project schedules and budgets while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Designing robot cells, end-of-arm tooling, and custom equipment within the cell
- Selecting and specifying robots and other cell equipment
- Generating detail and assembly drawings of custom equipment including end-of-arm tools
- Testing and troubleshooting equipment,
- Supporting the fabrication and installation team
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with 3-D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred) and 3-D AutoCAD
- Knowledge of ANSI/ASME drafting standards; ability to read, create and check drawings
- Knowledge of the design of mechanisms involving bearings, pneumatic systems, and electric motors, including experience with servos, sensors, materials, finishes and structural design
- Knowledge of robotic cell design including reach analysis, cycle time analysis and safety standards
- Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes used to make custom components
- Knowledge of automated industrial processes
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Work experience in manufacturing
- Machine design, robotics, and automation experience
- Ability to learn quickly to remain current in this constantly evolving field
